Gareth Ainsworth said he was proud of Wycombe despite conceding a late goal at Morecambe to rob them of only their second win in 12 games.
The home side had to come from behind after the game's star performer Paris Cowan-Hall maintained his run of scoring against Morecambe with a 41st minute header of his own.
And after Kevin Ellison's leveller Wycombe had two late efforts cleared off the line by Mark Hughes as the Chairboys chased victory.
Ainworth said: "I am obviously disappointed that we didn't hang on for the win because I thought we were the better side and they hadn't had a shot on target until they scored.
"But I thought it was a superb performance overall on a very difficult pitch. I wanted a response last week after losing 3-1 at home and I got that.
"We could have shown a bit more quality in the final third but the performance is something we can build on and we have to maintain these levels and get back to how we were performing at the start of the season."
