Bury have signed Robbie McIntyre on a contract until the end of the season, with the option of a further 12 months.

The 19-year-old left-back has recently departed Championship club Huddersfield having failed to make a first-team appearance since arriving from Scottish giants Rangers. McIntyre is available to make his debut in Saturday's League Two clash at Chesterfield. Meanwhile, striker John Rooney has left the Shakers by mutual consent. Rooney, brother of Manchester United and England frontman Wayne, joined Bury in the summer on a 12-month contract but has managed just four appearances, including just one start.
