Worthy relieved by Shrimps win

Image: Nigel Worthington: Happy with the win

York boss Nigel Worthington was a relieved man after his side finally managed to pick up a win in their a 1-0 triumph over Morecambe.

Ryan Jarvis' goal midway through the first half was enough to win the game for the Minstermen who had drawn eight of their previous 11 games. Despite the win Worthington has told his players the situation can change very quickly and has told them to take their performance into the remainder of the season. "All wins are big results and it has been a long time coming for us," he admitted. "There have been a lot of draws in that period but we've finally managed to get a win. We played well and we've seen the result through. "I'm pleased with our overall play and our high tempo meant that we got the result. Our work rate was important and it was much better than at Bury. As the game went on we lifted the tempo and when we do that we're not a bad side. "They mounted some pressure on us in the first half from set pieces and Michael Ingham made one or two saves, especially the one in the final 10 minutes. "In this division it changes with a win, but it can also change very quickly the other way if you don't keep an eye on the situation."
