Yates: Brown is league's best

Cheltenham boss Mark Yates hailed Scott Brown as the best goalkeeper in League Two after the Boxing Day win over Exeter.

Jamie Cureton's first-half strike handed the home side the points but they came under intense City pressure after the break. "I've always said Scott is the best keeper in our league and I think he's shown that with some outstanding saves," Yates said. "Most of them were from distance but there were too many for my liking. "It was a game of two halves. We were brilliant in the first half and should have been out of sight. They were much better in the second half. "We probably needed an ugly 1-0 win and we certainly got that with our second half performance. The start of the second half was nowhere near our first half performance. "But a big credit to the players who stuck at it. They got bodies on the line and there's great spirit. "That's 11 games unbeaten and the first time we have had back-to-back wins. From where we've been we weren't going to win 5-0 - someone will get it soon if we play like that."
