Oxford have received a boost with the news that striker Dave Kitson can play against York this weekend.
The former Reading striker netted a last-minute winner to help the Us beat Dagenham on Saturday but also picked up a booking, his 10th yellow of the campaign.
But a club statement on Monday confirmed that his two yellows which saw him sent off against Exeter back in October will not count.
"The FA have confirmed today that the two yellow cards Kitson received when he was dismissed against Exeter on 22nd October do not count because he has already served his punishment for those offences," it read.
"Therefore Kitson remains one booking away from a two-game suspension."
