Hill content with Dale draw

Keith Hill was a happy man as Rochdale picked up another point in their promotion quest following a 0-0 draw at York.

The manager hailed his side's display even though they failed to create many chances in the game, with Ian Henderson going close late on. With the halfway mark of the season approaching, Hill admits he's content with his side's position as they sit one point off the top of the table. He said: "It's a performance that shows we're capable of sustaining our challenge at the top end of the table. "I said at the start of the season that I thought we had a chance of maybe getting in the top seven, but as the season progresses the players believe they have a chance of getting in the top three. "I think that performance showed we've got a decent squad. The players that came in have done excellent, even though it wasn't too pleasing on the eye. "It wasn't free-flowing champagne soccer, but it was resolute and we did get chances to go on and win it, especially in the second half. "It's testament to the squad that we've built and how tight the lads are that we can come to York and keep a clean sheet and, I believe, stay in a position where we're going to be challenging."
