Jim Bentley said he was pleased with a point after Morecambe recovered from back-to-back defeats with a 0-0 draw against York.
The Shrimps went closest to taking the victory but York goalkeeper Nick Pope saved superbly from Padraig Amond's close-range header and Keith Lowe cleared Alex Kenyon's follow up off the line.
But despite going so close to all three points, Bentley was happy with the result.
He said: "I'm pleased that we picked up a point to stop the rot and I thought it was a cracking game which went from end to end and could easily have ended 3-3.
"We played some good stuff and created some really good chances but the only thing that was missing for us was a goal because on another day we could have won the game quite easily.
"It was good to keep a clean sheet as we haven't had one of those for a while and overall there were some good signs. Although we are disappointed that it is another home game without a win, we can take plenty of positives."
