Oxford United boss Chris Wilder is in the frame for the vacant manager's job at Portsmouth, Sky Sports understands.
Pompey are searching for a new manager after sacking Guy Whittingham on Monday following a poor run of form.
A number of names have been linked with the vacany at Fratton Park, but Wilder is thought to have admirers in the Portsmouth boardroom.
He is regarded as one of the best young managers in the country after guiding Oxford back into the Football League from the Conference and consolidating them in League Two.
Wilder has taken Oxford to the top of the League Two table this season and the impressive work he has done at the Kassam Stadium has not gone unnoticed.
