Brian Laws admits he faces a race against time to strengthen his squad in time for next weekend's home clash with Cheltenham.
Skipper Michael Collins (knee), striker Matt Godden, winger Andy Welsh (both knee) and defender Christian Ribeiro (groin) all missed Saturday's draw at Burton, while full-back Eddie Nolan sustained a hamstring injury in the first half.
Winger Etienne Esajas was also withdrawn at half-time due to a hamstring complaint, but is not expected to be sidelined.
"Where we are affected will be the midfield," Laws told the club's official website.
"We are very weak in that area and we do not have any cover anywhere and that has now forced me to press that panic button.
"So we will have to react and whether it is one player or two we will certainly have to do something."
Laws added: "I will be pushing the panic button now in order to try and bring somebody in for next Saturday."
