Baldwin happy to offer guidance

Pat Baldwin hopes he is playing his part in the development of Exeter defenders Jordan Moore-Taylor and Aaron Dawson.

The pair, 19 and 21, have made nine appearances between them in the back four alongside the experienced former Southend and Bristol Rovers defender so far this season. And 30-year-old Baldwin, who is looking to move into coaching in the future, says he likes to talk to the pair throughout matches and believes it helps take the pressure off the homegrown duo. "You have to try and help them and talk them through it, as a young pro that's what you need," he told Press Association Sport. "Certainly when I first started out I appreciated it, you can find older pros who are selfish and concentrate on their own game and that is fair enough - but I do like to try and improve them as they improve me. "It is something I've enjoyed doing as well, especially I am going into the coaching side of things. "It gives the young lads confidence and takes a little bit of the pressure off to have someone next to them talking to them. I hope it does benefit them."
