Bristol Rovers boss John Ward was left bemoaning the way his side played in their 2-0 loss at Dagenham.
After finding themselves a goal down the Pirates missed a great chance to level things up when Daggers goalkeeper Chris Lewington pushed away a powerful Matt Harrold penalty in the 56th minute.
Luke Howell sealed the points to leave Ward frustrated.
"I think that (concentration) comes when you're actually confident, playing well and things are going nicely in your favour, people kind of do that normally and naturally," he explained.
"Sometimes when it's difficult, and we are in difficult times away from home, then there's a little bit more thinking about it. By the time you've realised the chance is gone and we've got to improve on that.
"I'm not talking about a young team, I'm talking about an experienced side and some of those guys have got to do better.
"It's all about results, and the senior boys know that, but we've huffed and puffed at the front end of the team again and made three changes in that in trying to shake things up a little bit.
"The penalty is a good shout, everyone will talk about that and Matt's come in and put his hand up, but I've no idea what would have happened had that gone in. What I do know is it didn't go in and we got beat 2-0."
