Bentley pleased with team effort

Morecambe manager Jim Bentley says he is happy that his side are sharing the goals amongst each other.

The Shrimps were dealt a huge blow in pre-season when last season's top scorer Jack Redshaw was ruled out until the new year with a hip injury, leaving them potentially light up-front. However, after a shaky start, Bentley's side have won three on the trot in Sky Bet League Two with four different players - Kevin Ellison, Padraig Amond, Andy Fleming and Jack Sampson - scoring seven goals between them. Former Bolton striker Sampson opened his Morecambe account in the win over Southend on Saturday and Bentley was pleased his efforts had finally been rewarded. Speaking to BBC Radio Lancashire, he said: "Any fan who's been to the games will agree that he's not had much luck. "The way he came inside and let it go with his left foot was fantastic. I'm pleased. It's great he's off the mark. "We got Padraig Amond off the mark last week, Kevin Ellison is up to three goals now, Ryan Williams has scored and Andy Fleming has chipped in with his two great finishes. "It's good that goals are coming from all over and long may it continue."
