Newport County have confirmed the signing of former Port Vale midfielder Ryan Burge.
The 24-year-old, who left Vale Park in April by mutual consent, has also played league football with Oxford and Doncaster and boosts a Newport squad struggling with injuries. Exiles boss Justin Edinburgh told the club's official website: "Ryan had a fantastic season last year, featuring in Vale's promotion-winning side and was also subject to a six-figured transfer bid from a Championship club. "We are delighted to be able to acquire him at this stage of the season and he will add quality competition for places within our squad." Burge will not be available this weekend as international clearance has not been completed.
