Andy Dawson's injury suffered in Scunthorpe's friendly win over Grimsby is not as bad as first feared.
The veteran defender was taken off in the 3-0 win over their north Lincolnshire rivals on Saturday after a serious looking clash with Alex Rodman. But fears have now eased and boss Brian Laws expects the 34-year-old to be back in action in a week. Boss Brian Laws told the club's official website: "It did look quite bad at first, their player seemed to catch him quite heavily in the thigh. "Early diagnosis seems to indicate a haematoma and the area is already quite swollen. "But that is a good sign believe it or not, we think it should be about a week, luckily for us we have that."
