Torquay United have agreed a deal to sign midfielder Ben Harding on a two-year contract.

The 28-year-old was released by Northampton at the end of the 2012/13 season, featured in the Gulls' 4-0 friendly win over the Royal Marines on Friday. Boss Alan Knill told the club's official website: "He hasn't signed yet but that's only down to paperwork. Everything is agreed and we're expecting him to either sign over the weekend or on Monday. "He is a big player with good size and somebody I've always liked. "He is used to being in winning teams and knows what it takes. I felt we needed some experience and know-how in this league, and he's also a good footballer as well."
