Sky Sports understands former Shrewsbury Town striker Marvin Morgan is poised to join Plymouth Argyle as a free agent.
The 30-year-old forward saw his contract with the Shrews expire at the end of last season, allowing him to take his career in a different direction.
Morgan had attracted interest from the Championship in January, but failed to secure a switch and ended up seeing out the season in League One.
It is understood that there were plenty of sides willing to offer him a stay in the third tier for 2013/14.
Morgan has, however, opted to drop down into League Two after being impressed by the ambition of Plymouth boss John Sheridan.
He is believed to have agreed a two-year contract with the Pilgrims.
