Stevenage defender Jon Ashton has admitted his spell in the dugout has left him viewing a future as a manager.
The 30-year-old - who missed seven months of the campaign through two separate Achilles problems - assisted skipper Mark Roberts and youth coach Darren Sarll with the managerial duties following the departure of boss Gary Smith from the Lamex Stadium.
Graham Westley's return to the club has allowed Ashton to focus on regaining his fitness ahead of next season, but the centre-back now has an eye on his future once his playing days are over.
"I learned a lot," he told the club's official website. "I think I could see myself in a managerial role or as a coach in the future.
"I think I've still got a few years left in me yet as a player but it is definitely something I'd consider in the future."
