Batt: It's now or never for U's

Oxford defender Damian Batt has said the U's need to "become men" if they are to gatecrash the League Two play-offs.

Batt and his team-mates travel to Northampton on Saturday knowing defeat could leave them nine points adrift of the top seven with six games remaining. And the long-serving defender said the whole squad have a role to play if they are going to inflict just the fourth home defeat of the season on the Cobblers and keep their play-off dreams alive. Batt told the Oxford Mail: "It is down to the senior players, but it's (also) down to the squad and the young players. "They have got to really become men and put in performances, whether in training or games. "It will be a massive game and one we have got to go out and win." Oxford, who missed out on the play-offs by four points last season, are currently six behind seventh-placed Rotherham.
