Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale was satisfied with a goalless draw at Fleetwood Town at the Highbury Stadium.
The shot-shy hosts dominated for long periods but could not snatch the points before top scorer Jamie Cureton almost completed a smash-and-grab mission for City at the death.
Tisdale said: "All in all it's a good result and it keeps that gap between us and Fleetwood. It keeps us where we want to be.
"Both sides had chances. We picked up in the last five minutes and I don't know how we didn't manage to score in the end.
"The ball goes into the goalkeeper's chest in that last second - you can't blame them.
"We did well to keep the ball in play and then Jamie Cureton hits it against the keepers chest.
"You'd want Jamie in that situation to put that away, but there you go."
"The result will suit other clubs - they'll be looking at it and think it's gone well.
"We're not doing badly, but there's a long way to go."
