Amex Stadium: New home for Christian Walton
Brighton have signed teenage goalkeeper Christian Walton from Plymouth on a long-term contract.
The 17-year-old will now complete his apprenticeship with Albion before turning professional on a three-year deal this summer.
Walton, who had attracted the attention of a number of clubs, completed the move following a successful trial with Brighton.
Goalkeeping coach Andy Beasley told the club's official website: "I'm delighted to get him signed up. The scouting system did a great job in highlighting him so I went to watch him and straight away I was impressed by him.
"Bringing players in like Christian gives you that bit of excitement and you want to see him grow. He's very level headed and I'm looking forward to seeing him flourish."
Walton added: "It's a great opportunity for me. I just want to knuckle down, work hard and hopefully one day I will break into the first-team squad."
Meanwhile Brighton defender Marcos Painter has joined Bournemouth on loan until the end of the season, and is available to play tomorrow.
