Darikwa blow for Spireites

Highly-rated Chesterfield winger Tendayi Darikwa will be out for around a month after the club revealed he requires a hernia operation.

Darikwa, who this season has been watched by the scouts of Premier League teams, has had to be substituted early in the second half of the Spireites' last two matches after complaining about discomfort in his groin. He saw a specialist on Tuesday who diagnosed a bilateral inguinal hernia and the 21-year-old will undergo surgery next week. "It's a common injury in football so it doesn't cause undue concern. The recovery time is around four to five weeks," said Chesterfield physio Jamie Hewitt.
