Amond aiming to end drought

Accrington striker Padraig Amond is confident the end to his goal drought is around the corner.

Amond has seven goals to his name this term but was last on target in October's 1-0 win over Bristol Rovers, 16 appearances ago. A recent groin injury added to the 24-year-old Irishman's frustrations, but he is now fit and ready to go as Stanley look to battle their way out of trouble at the wrong end of League Two. "I'm hoping for one to hit me on the backside and go in - it's one of them," he said. "Players go through spells like that, it is frustrating. The injury coming up as well makes it even more frustrating. "I'm confident that once I get another run I'll score goals and hit my target for the season."
