York boss Gary Mills was pleased to pick up a valuable point against Aldershot following a 0-0 draw at Bootham Crescent.
With both Jason Walker and Jamie Reed leading the line the closest York came to scoring was through midfielder Michael Potts with chances few and far between for both sides. "When it's a horrible game and not the best of games you make sure you don't lose and we did exactly that," he said. "There's been a few occasions this season when we've ended up with nothing but we've got ourselves a point. "They made it hard for ourselves by pressing very high and they didn't give us the opportunity to play from the back as much as we would have liked to and it wasn't a great game. "When it's not a great game and things aren't going how you would want them go then you make sure you keep a clean sheet and the worst you can have is a point. "It's not perfect or what everybody wants but we haven't won at home which is disappointing, but it's another valuable point and we have to do that when we don't play very well. "There weren't many chances in the game at all but we did better second half, but it just wasn't to be."
