Sky Sports understands former Oldham Athletic and Chesterfield manager John Sheridan is set to become the new boss at Plymouth Argyle.
Sheridan has been out of management since leaving Chesterfield in the early weeks of this season, but is understood to have been interviewed by Plymouth on Friday.
Sky Bet have suspended betting on the next boss at Home Park and reports suggest Sheridan's appointment will be confirmed on Monday.
Plymouth have moved quickly to install a new man at the helm after dispensing with Carl Fletcher earlier this week following a run of one win in 13 League Two fixtures.
Fletcher, who had been in charge since September 2011, left the Pilgrims in 21st position in the table, just two points outside the relegation zone.
Former Leeds United and Sheffield Wednesday midfielder Sheridan won the League Two title with Chesterfield in 2010/11 but his challenge now is to keep Plymouth in the Football League.
