Micky Mellon has been sacked as manager of Fleetwood Town in the wake of their FA Cup defeat to Aldershot.
Mellon guided the club out of the Blue Square Bet Premier last season and they currently lie seventh in League Two, just inside the play-off places.
But after their 3-2 to Aldershot in the second round of the FA Cup, Mellon has been removed from the Highbury Stadium hotseat.
"Fleetwood Town wish to announce that manager Micky Mellon's contract has been terminated with immediate effect," read a statement on the club's official website.
"The club would like to place on record our sincere appreciation for what he has achieved during his time with the club."
