Brown: Credit due to Deering

Cheltenham goalkeeper Scott Brown has given the credit for his penalty save against Barnet on Saturday to team-mate Sam Deering.

Brown celebrated his ninth clean sheet of the season - the highest in League Two so far this term - by saving Mark Byrne's 65th-minute spot kick in the 1-0 victory against the Bees. But the 27-year-old Robins keeper believes Deering should receive the praise after giving Brown some useful advice. Brown told the Gloucestershire Echo: "I got the man-of-the-match champagne but I gave it to Sammy because he deserves all the credit. "I write things down and do all the research I can but to be honest I was going to guess the other way. "He (Byrne) had two penalties the previous week and he went the other way with both. But a bit of divine intervention from Sam, who told me to go the other way, helped me out."
