Highlights inspire Constable

Oxford's James Constable has been watching a compilation DVD of his goals for the Us to inspire a steady return to form.

The 28-year-old striker, who has netted 56 times for the club in 120 starts, hadn't scored a league goal for eight months. But after netting in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy victory at Cheltenham earlier this month, he finally ended his league drought with a long-range strike in a 3-1 win at Wycombe on Saturday. "As a forward, it's a lot to do with confidence and you do find it hard, especially when you hear how long it's been since you last scored," he told the Oxford Mail. "In the morning of every game since, I've watched the DVD just as a little reminder. It's worked the last few games so I'll keep doing it and hopefully more goals come. "Watching the DVD and having meetings with the gaffer (and coaching staff), they have told me what they want and it makes it clear for me to go out and do whatever is needed - getting myself back to how I was before."
