Kemar Roofe has returned to West Brom following the conclusion of his loan spell at Northampton.
The midfielder, 19, made seven appearances for the Cobblers during his month-long stay at Sixfields.
"I would like to thank Kemar and West Brom," said boss Aidy Boothroyd.
"I just feel, at this time, we need to free a loan space up in the squad for a different type of player.
"That is no reflection on Kemar, who was a credit to himself and his club, and he returns with our best wishes and gratitude."
