Port Vale's administrators have confirmed the club's new owner could be revealed this week.
Paul Wildes, a Wirral-based businessman, is tipped to take over the League Two outfit, who have been in administration since March.
The club's administrators, Begbies Traynor, told BBC Radio Stoke there would be no statement but a press conference is scheduled for Tuesday October 16.
A previous takeover bid by Keith Ryder came to an end last month but Vale continue to perform well on the pitch, sitting second in the table.
Begbies Traynor director Bob Young has previously stated that a deal should be concluded before the end of October.
