Wigan youngster Jordan Mustoe has linked up with League Two outfit Morecambe on a month-long loan.
The Shrimps are in need of reinforcements after suffering a string of early-season injuries.
Promising defender Mustoe has been drafted in to provide cover for Robbie Threlfall, who has picked up a muscle complaint.
The 21-year-old has prior experience of life in the fourth tier having taken in a loan spell at Barnet last season.
Mustoe will be hoping to get important minutes under his belt while with Morecambe, offering him an opportunity to catch the eye of Latics boss Roberto Martinez.
He will be joined in the Shrimps' squad over the coming weeks by Will Bell, who has penned non-contract terms after impressing for the club's U18 side.
