Gillingham boss Martin Allen compared Oxford goalkeeper Ryan Clarke's performance to that of Joe Hart's midweek heroics.
Manchester City 'keeper Hart was in inspirational form during City's European clash against Borussia Dortmund and Clarke produced a string of brilliant saves to deny table-topping Gills a sixth successive away win.
Allen said: "I thought their goalkeeper was absolutely Gordon Banks. He was awesome. I was clapping him myself from the sidelines. I had to check the team sheet...I thought he was Joe Hart. Some of his saves were unbelievable."
Allen was not unhappy with the draw, although Gillingham created by far the better chances.
"It was definitely a point gained," Allen said. "We played some great football in the first half, we just couldn't break them down and we came up against a unbelievable goalkeeper."
