AFC Wimbledon caretaker boss Simon Bassey says he has given 100% as his temporary spell in charge appears set to end.
The Dons look poised to name their new manager by the weekend and Bassey knows Tuesday night's 3-2 defeat away to Oxford United in League Two may have been his final match in charge. He said: "If it is my last game, so be it. I've done the best I could. We've taken three points out of a possible nine, which isn't really good enough. We have to turn these performances into results. But we could easily have taken six points from the last two games, instead of none." Goals from Byron Harrison and Jim Fenlon had seen the Dons come from 1-0 down to lead at half-time at the Kassam Stadium - only for the hosts to grab all three points with two goals after the break. "That summed our season up really. What matters is what you do in both boxes and we weren't brave enough where it matters," Bassey added. "Changes will have to be made. It's a young group and they're learning all the time, but they've got to be braver. "Everyone's job is on the line. But we'll dust ourselves down and go again. I'll keep working hard and doing my best and if I'm in charge at Plymouth on Saturday, I'll do my best again there."
