Rotherham saw their game at Accrington called off just 15 minutes before kick-off, much to the frustration of Paul Raynor.
A heavy deluge just after 7pm left the Crown Ground playing surface with standing water on and after two inspections, referee Chris Sarginson had no choice but to call the game off.
"It was clear that we were going to have a problem," said Millers assistant manager Raynor. "There were a few puddles when we started the warm-up and there were lots of problem little areas on the field and in some places it wouldn't roll at all so the referee had a difficult decision to make.
"We were desperate to play, the lads were fed and watered and ready to go."
"I'm standing here looking at the supporters, and they will be absolutely devastated. They've turned up in large numbers again and it's disappointing for the manager (Steve Evans) again who wanted another game out of the way so he can get back."
