Rotherham assistant manager Paul Raynor cannot wait for Steve Evans to complete his six-match stadium ban.

Raynor has been thrust into the Millers hot-seat on matchdays in the wake of Evans' FA punishment for improper conduct and has overseen two wins, a draw and a defeat from the first four games.

Evans has never been more than a phone call away, but Raynor admits he has not enjoyed his boss' absence.

"I have found it frustrating and I don't enjoy it if I am honest," he told Press Association Sport. "I am quite used to my role, I have had 10 years of doing it. We have a way of doing things and we are out of sync and that is a shame.

"We bounce things off each other and it ultimately comes down to the gaffer and me supporting him and when he is not there its a not a natural way of working, so it is difficult.

"When you take one cog out of the wheel it doesn't run as smoothly and it was never going to. So we are just trying to make the best of the situation we have been dealt and pick up as many points as we can until the gaffer is back. But for me in particular, it cannot come back soon enough."
