Barnet boss Mark Robson admitted he was "gutted" for his side as they suffered a fifth straight defeat to Aldershot.
Craig Reid scored the only goal of the game to leave the Bees rooted to the bottom of the league.
"The boys were very disappointed. I said to them that I was gutted for them because they worked their socks off and they gave it a good go but it was just very disappointing that they conceded a goal we could have avoided," Robson said.
"The lads are very down because with the work ethic we were very confident that we could get something out of the game and at half-time we were expecting to go on and possibly win the game.
"We have done a lot on the defending side of the game and the boys have worked very hard which makes it all the more frustrating.
"But that one lapse of concentration can make the difference between winning, losing and drawing and unfortunately that happened to us."
