Tisdale hails Grecians attack

Exeter boss Paul Tisdale acknowledged the value of good goalscorers after his side beat Oxford 4-2 at the Kassam Stadium.

Veteran striker Jamie Cureton bagged a double and impressive fellow forward John O'Flynn, whose running stretched the U's time and time again, sealed victory. Tisdale, who saw midfielder Scot Bennett also get in on the act, said: "We've got people in the team who can score goals and we scored at good times. "We all know what Jamie's about and his first goal was terrific, but I was pleased too with John. He had said before the game that he was prepared to work very hard and he did just that." Tisdale added: "I think that having a 3-0 lead you would be disappointed if you didn't come out winners. But Oxford did have me worried when they got it back to 3-2. I know how easily one goal can become two. "But we then responded well after Oxford had got back into it. We're a sensible side and we're playing well on the road at the moment. But it's very early days and teams are sparring with each other a bit at this stage of the season. However, we thought it would be a big scalp if we could get a win here because oxford have aspirations to go up."
