Morecambe boss Jim Bentley has expressed his delight at his side's 2-1 Capital One Cup victory away at Blackpool.
The Shrimps started like a house on fire with Lewis Alessandra opening the scoring in the sixth minute and Andy Fleming doubling the away side's advantage shortly after half-time. Blackpool rallied but Alex Baptiste's strike was mere consolation.
Bentley said: "I'm delighted, for a club of our size to come on a coach to our near neighbours and get a win is a special day for the football club.
"I'm delighted for everyone at Morecambe and most of all the supporters who have travelled in their numbers and given us terrific support.
"The fans are massive, they play a huge part. Attendances at home haven't been great, but away from home the following has been superb."
