Aldershot have confirmed midfielder Craig Stanley suffered a broken leg during Saturday's pre-season friendly at Woking.

Stanley was the recipient of a challenge from Mark Ricketts in the first half which earned the Cards defender a caution.

The 29-year-old joined in June from Bristol Rovers and has settled in well since his arrival, featuring in the majority of the club's pre-season friendlies.

A statement on Aldershot's official website said: "After being taken to hospital the bad news was confirmed by Craig via his official Twitter site.

"Everybody at Aldershot Town Football Club wishes Craig a quick recovery. We hope to see him back in a Shots shirt soon."
