New Wombles deal for Midson

Jack Midson has signed a new contract with AFC Wimbledon ahead of the upcoming season.

The 28-year-old striker, who scored 20 goals last season, was the subject of a bid from Rotherham last month but has now committed himself to the Dons. He said: "It is quite flattering when there is interest in you, but my main aim was to stay at Wimbledon. "It would have had to have been a massive offer for me to go. The grass is not always greener and I am happy to stay at this club. "It is no secret that I had a good year at Wimbledon, but it was the support from the fans, the staff and everyone at the club that helped me do so well in my first season here. "We had to get a few things sorted out, but I am glad that the contract is done now as I wanted it sorted before the start of pre-season training."
