Crewe have signed former West Ham left-back Jordan Brown on a one-month contract following a successful trial period.
The 20-year-old looked to have missed his opportunity with the Railwaymen when he failed to return to their Reaseheath training base for the second week of an initial trail earlier this month. However, Alex boss Steve Davis later revealed this was down to a misunderstanding between the club, the player and his agent and invited Brown back into the fold. Brown, who enjoyed a loan spell with Aldershot earlier this term before his release from Upton Park, will be available for selection in Tuesday night's League Two derby clash with Port Vale.
