Evans: Urged team progress

Crawley manager Steve Evans says he expects his team to make a real push for promotion - starting against Morecambe.

The Red Devils face the Shrimpers on the back of losing top scorer Tyrone Barnett to Peterborough for a club record fee. However, Evans is expecting his team to exact revenge on Morecambe after they were hammered 6-0 by Jim Bentley's side in September.

"We are a different team from that game, Morecambe are a different team," Evans told the Crawley Observer.

"I watched them at AFC Wimbledon on Saturday and they played extremely well. They have got a great away record in League 2 and always do well against the better teams. Jim is a good young manager and I have got a lot of time for him.

Evans believes that despite losing some key players, Crawley are still seen as the biggest team in the division at the moment, hence why the game is being televised.

"We have a period in front of us, we need to deliver. We are still the big scalp, hence being on television away. The cameras want to see us beat."
