McGhee praise for Shrews

Mark McGhee says Shrewsbury are the best he has seen in League Two after they ended his 100% record as Bristol Rovers manager.

McGhee's three-match winning run was halted by a solitary goal from James Collins five minutes from time. The Scot had no complaints about the outcome, saying: "We hung on and defended well. The keeper made a couple of decent saves but we brought a lot of pressure on ourselves by not being able to keep the ball well enough. "It was inevitable that they would eventually get a goal so it's disappointing but they're a good team. I was impressed with them. I've seen a lot of teams now in this division, both before and since I've been in this job, and I think they're the best I've seen. "We invited pressure and eventually we were beaten by a better team. We defended well enough but if you keep taking punches eventually you'll take a knockout punch and that's what happened. "We might have hung on but we didn't and you can't argue that they didn't deserve to beat us."
