Bristol Rovers manager Mark McGhee admitted he got his team formation wrong despite Saturday's 2-1 victory over Morecambe.
The experienced Scot was forced to substitute Joe Anyinsah shortly after the half-hour mark in the League Two clash at the Memorial Stadium and change from 4-3-3 to 4-4-2 before his improving side took charge. In the end, Lee Brown's side-footed finish and evergreen striker Scott McGleish's 74th-minute penalty proved just enough to continue Rovers' revival. McGhee said: "My decision to go 4-3-3 caused us problems and it was no reflection of Anyinsah's performance that I took him off. We were not doing well going forward or defending. "Eliot Richards made a big difference as a substitute and the way he played suggested I got the selection wrong too. "It's three wins under me, which is great, but I haven't really changed much and the players deserve a lot of credit. My assistant Shaun North did a great job as caretaker boss in rebuilding confidence, which helped a lot when I took over."
