James Collins is hoping Shrewsbury's promotion chances will be helped when their League Two rivals face each other.

The striker was on target as the Shrews defeated neighbours Hereford 2-0 on Saturday - a victory which moved them into fourth place in the League Two table.

Swindon would leapfrog Graham Turner's side should they defeat second-placed Southend on Tuesday but Collins is hopeful those sides with a game in hand can take points off each other.

"The pressure is always going to be on the sides above us," he told the Shropshire Star.

"They've got to go somewhere on a Tuesday night and play and I would always prefer to get the points on the board rather than have the games in hand.

"Some of the top teams play each other this week so all we can do is keep getting the points on the board and see what happens really."
