Low: League quality high

The standard of the lower leagues is improving year on year, according to Cheltenham midfielder Josh Low.

The 32-year-old has spent the majority of his career in the bottom two divisions of the Football League, and he has seen the quality of play increase regularly.

Low puts the rise in calibre down to the heavy spending of clubs in the Barclays Premier League and a steady stream of imports from overseas.

"From my experience, I've seen the quality in this league improve," he said.

"A few years ago there were teams in the league that you would go into a match thinking you were definitely going to beat them.

"I think the influx of foreign players at the top level has pushed back down some of the home-grown players to this league. That's made the quality of the league much stronger."
