Shrimps home form irks boss

Morecambe boss Jim Bentley admitted his side's dismal home form was a growing cause for concern after they went down 2-1 to Torquay.

Goals in either half from Mark Ellis and Danny Stevens were enough to give the Gulls another three points to make it just one defeat in 12, while Morecambe, who scored a consolation through Phil Jevons, suffered a seventh home defeat of the season. Bentley said: "I've been saying for some time there is a fine line between success and failure in football and we are continually falling the wrong side of that line at home. "There was a clear foul on Chris McCready for their second goal while we have had a penalty not given when there was a clear handball in the area at the death. We are not getting the decisions or the rub of the green but at the same time there is a definite nervousness about us at home which was there to see. "I can't blame the lads for effort because they are giving it their all but we are making bad decisions when it matters and not making the most of the possession we are getting. I will take nothing away from Torquay though because I thought they shaded the game overall and we must do much better at home."
