Barnet manager Lawrie Sanchez has admitted he is closing in on a loan signing from a club in the Premier League.
The Bees are desperate to add to their squad ahead of this weekend's trip to Northampton, with a full-back high on the list of priorities after Danny Senda was ruled out for the season and Gary Borrowdale went back to QPR.
Untried rookie Elliot Johnson was on the bench as defensive cover for Saturday's 3-0 win over Accrington Stanley
Sanchez has held talks with a youngster from a top-flight club and hopes to confirm the signing in the next couple of days.
"We had young Elliot on the bench so we are down to the bare bones again," he said after Saturday's game.
