Paolo Di Canio has criticised the previous regime at Swindon, claiming the club was plagued by bad habits.
The Italian has led the Robins to sixth spot in League Two this term, and his side are currently 14 games unbeaten in all competitions. But the former West Ham and Celtic forward was damning in his verdict on the attitude and application of some former players at the Wiltshire club, saying an "unprofessional" mindset helped lead other members of the squad astray. "They have inside the motivation but nobody in the past helped them to let them understand that they should put out the right way to behave as a professional, even in the middle of a group of unprofessional people," Di Canio said. "I know that is difficult. Paul Caddis, (Matt) Ritchie, Simon Ferry were here last year. I watched the way they played and they gave their best but obviously they weren't fit like now. "The fact that there were six or seven bad professional players in here put them in a situation that they don't give their best as a professional. Not because they were unprofessional - it is difficult if you stay in a place where there is a bad habit."
