Torquay can make the League Two play-offs for the second season in a row, according to midfielder Damon Lathrope.

The Gulls fought all the way to the final at Old Trafford last term, only to lose out to Stevenage, and Lathrope sees no reason why the Devon club cannot replicate that form in the second half of the 2011/12 campaign.

The Plainmoor outfit have won five of their last six league encounters to lie ninth in the table, just a point off the top seven.

Lathrope said: "Our aim is the play-offs. I think we could be in that top group and we are good enough to be. All you need is a good run of results.

"In this league the bottom teams do beat the top teams quite often, but that's League Two. If you have a run of four of five wins then you can go from the bottom half to the top seven quite easily.

"We'll be there or thereabouts if we keep believing."
