Kayserispor and Verona target free agent in January

Skysports.com understands Kayserispor and Verona are chasing former Hibernian forward Derek Riordan. Riordan is looking for a new club after leaving Shaanxi Chanba last month following four months with the Chinese side. The 28-year-old's contract at Shaanxi was cancelled by mutual consent and he is free to sign for a new club in the January transfer window. The news has alerted Turkish side Kayserispor and Serie B outfit Verona to his availability. Kayserispor have held a long-term interest in Riordan with the club's boss former Rangers star Shota Arveladze a big admirer, while Verona are keen to bolster their squad as they seek a return to Serie A. Riordan is thought to be open to another move abroad despite his unhappy spell in China.
